Sonseeah Meeker - Faceting
I moved to Jacksonville Florida in 1993 and have always loved rocks and gemstones. Both of my children were raised here in Jacksonville and would bring rocks home everyday. This evolved into collecting and eventually cutting. I have dabbled in many areas including cabbing, silversmithing, casting, precious metal clay, wire wrap and more. I settled on faceting as it was the closest to my trade and the best area for me to give back to Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society (JGMS). With over 23 years of aircraft industry machinist experience, faceting was the perfect choice for me. I love the feeling of making something out of solid material that is beautiful precise and fascinating.
