Silver I

with Vicki Prillaman

at William Holland

Class Description

This class will cover the proper use of basic tools and some of the alternative tools used in making jewelry. Students will learn to solder using an acetylene torch, how to saw, file, and polish properly, just to cover a few of the things we will be discussing and practicing. The instructor will have the materials for each class project in a kit assembled for the students in order to save some time in class and to be sure we have the proper supplies. We will be making a ring with a cabochon setting, a pierced pendant, a bracelet and another project to be discussed in class.

Cost of this class will depend on the price of silver.

Lab Fee of $120.00 covers the cost of  a cabochon for the ring setting, hand-outs, solder, flux, wax, saw blades, and other consumables provided by your instructor.

Materials Fee: based on the cost of silver at the time of the class and the number of projects, it may be $180-$250.
